For Organizations-Mental Health Treatment
The Family Center works closely with the local court system to provide mental health treatment for clients and individuals with Substance Use Disorder, behavioral health issues, domestic disturbance, emotional trauma, legal issues, and more. We provide psychological assessments, evaluations, treatment planning, measurable results, and long term goals in order to create lasting behavioral change and reintegrate clients back into the community. The Family Center maintains a strong relationship between the criminal justice system, partnering agencies, and our clients to maximize behavioral health outcomes.
The Family Center provides counseling to children and adolescents who have histories of Substance Use Disorder, defiant behavior, depression, trauma, and anxiety. Family therapy is an integral part of our treatment plan. Therapists use a variety of techniques to build strengths, solve problems and develop a goal-oriented plan to make life improvements. We coordinate with appropriate community partners to create the highest level of care.
Are you “home yet”? A veteran can return home in body without his or her spirit. The Family Center serves those who know the meaning of service. Our goal is to help reintegrate one’s mind and body and renew their spirit. We provide support to all military veterans and their families with individualized care as they transition back into civilian life. At The Family Center, we offer support to veterans by veterans to carry the tradition and need of the “Battle Buddy” system. Clinicians at The Family Center provide individual and group counseling to address issues related to readjustment.
Individuals in need of medical attention may also have various mental health concerns. The Family Center is staffed with talented professionals willing to collaborate with local hospitals to provide mental health services to nearby communities.
One of the most effective ways of addressing mental health concerns is through prevention and early intervention. Signs that a child may be in need of professional help include a significant decline in academic performance, hyperactive behavior, disruptive outbursts, refusal to attend school or depressive symptoms. The Family Center partners with local schools to address behavioral issues in children and adolescents.
The Family Center provides services to the seniors in and around the greater Boston area and the south shore. Research has found a number of connections between the process of aging and mental health issues. Older adults often deal with increased anxiety, cognitive impairment and mood disorders. In addition to individual therapy, professionals at The Family Center provide assessments and mental health treatment to seniors living at home, in hospitals, nursing homes, or assisted living programs.
The Family Center provides individual and group therapy to the residents at area substance detoxification centers. Volunteers of America currently provides 72 beds of in-patient substance abuse treatment for men, women, and adolescent males in the greater Boston community. The Family Center provides client-centered treatment for patients with co-occurring disorders, including bi-polar, depression, PTSD, and more.
