Massachusetts Bay Veterans Center
At the Massachusetts Bay Veterans Center (MBVC), veterans are welcomed home. Here, veterans find themselves in a safe, clean, and compassionate environment where they can make connections to employment opportunities, long-term independent housing, substance abuse counseling, and mental health care.
Some veterans arrive after being homeless for years. Many others arrive empty-handed, seeking a safe place to learn how to cope with addiction or mental illness. It’s a community where veterans have the time to take care of themselves, create relationships with one another, and get the support they need so they can rebuild their independence.
Located at 2 North St in Somerville, MA, the MBVC provides 22 transitional and 7 permanent units of housing to formerly homeless veterans. The building also serves as a hub for other veteran services providers in the area.
At Volunteers of America Massachusetts, we know housing is key to a person’s overall health, well being, and stability. We’re committed to ensuring that the MBVC provides quality and affordable housing, in addition to critical service options to support the independence of its residents.
