  • Celebrate the special women in your life...
Save the Date: Come celebrate the special women in your life and help support Volunteers of America Massachusetts. This year's I Remember Mama celebration will be held on May 5th, 2012 from 12pm until 2pm. It will be held this year at the Renaissance Boston Waterfront Hotel located at 606 Congress st., Boston, MA 02210. All Proceeds benefit Volunteers of America Massachusetts.
  • Hello House for Women in need of updated kitchen
Every day of the year Hello House for Women is making positive strides for its residents. Your support allows Volunteers of America the opportunity to provide the women at our 28 bed residential recovery home opportunities they might not experience anywhere else. Each year between 90 and 120 female alcoholics and drug addicts are admitted to the three to six month individualized program with the goal of reintegrating back into the community as fully functioning sober family members, workers and citizens.
  • Hope for Veterans
Far too many veterans are homeless in Massachusetts. On any given night, more than 1,400 veterans in Massachusetts are searching for a place to sleep; a place to call home. Many of these veterans suffer from an addiction to alcohol or drugs, PSD, depression, or traumatic brain injuries. “When the veterans arrive here so many of them come in- and they have absolutely nothing”, says Michael Herron, Director of our Hello House for Men on Massachusetts Avenue in Boston.
  • A Hand up, not a Hand out
Thank you to all of the providers, organizations and volunteers who helped to make Massachusetts Stand Down 2011 a success. We served nearly 800 homeless or at-risk veterans this year and we could not have done it without your support!
