Welcome to Volunteers of America  of Massachusetts

In 1896, Volunteers of America was founded on a vision and promise to "go wherever we are needed and do whatever comes to hand." For more than 100 years that spiritual and social legacy has inspired our organization's work.

Now more than ever our country needs the support of its people to strengthen our communities from within, whether it be through community service, donations or non-profit work. Volunteers of America Massachusetts is committed to its mission which focuses on strengthening the individual spirit and broadening an awareness of possibilities through human services programs.

In Massachusetts, we run comprehensive programs for abused and neglected adolescents, adults and youth in recovery from drug and alcohol addiction, elders in need of housing and health services, as well as families and individuals in need of mental health services.

"I'll Always Love My Mama"

Being alone is hard enough for a mother, being alone on Mother’s Day, is heartbreaking. That is why Volunteers of America Massachusetts will host the 13th Annual I Remember Mama Luncheon on Saturday, May 10, 2008 at the Hilton Boston Logan Airport. The I Remember Mama Luncheon lifts the spirits of each woman by providing an unforgettable afternoon of fine dining, gifts, entertainment, companionship and smiles - at no cost to the guests. The ladies who attend, truly enjoy this day of special recognition, and most importantly, the knowledge that they are appreciated by their community.

Every week, residents are required to participate in the yoga lessons taught by a volunteer network of certified yoga instructors. A few weeks ago, the New York Times paid the women of Hello House a visit.

"Getting More Living Out of Life"
The residents of our Concord Park and Nashoba Park Assisted Living Communities share what it's like to be a member of the Volunteers of America Family. Come with us on a narrated journey by former Volunteers of America Massachusetts Board Member, John Baerhend, as he gives an emotional look into the lives of our senior communities.
